Maral Kibarian Skelsey, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. She is the founder of The Dermatologic Surgery Center of Washington, one of the largest dermatology and dermatologic surgery practices in Washington, D.C. She is also Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Skelsey completed her dermatology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she was Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology under Dr. Gary Monheit at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to entering private practice, she was Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Georgetown University. Dr. Skelsey currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a past President of the Washington, D.C. Dermatological Society. Her clinical interests include skin cancer treatment, Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, and aesthetic rejuvenation. She leads an active clinical research program focused on cutaneous oncology, photodynamic therapy, laser surgery, and vitiligo.
